Electricity
Entergy Arkansas serves the Pine Bluff area with dependable electric energy at competitive rates. Primary service is provided through ten transmission lines of 115,000 volts and two lines of 230,000 volts. Distribution for service within the city is by lines of 13,800 volts. Single or three-phase, 60 cycles service with 120/240/480 volts is available.

Natural Gas
CenterPoint Energy provides natural gas with a heat content of 1,000 BTU's per cubic foot to the Pine Bluff area. With some of the largest proven reserves in the industry, Arkla maintains a primary pipeline system of some 3,000 miles tapping into the rich natural gas fields of Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.

Pine Bluff is served through a twelve-inch high pressure line from the west and an eight-inch high pressure line from the north. An intermediate pressure twelve-inch line extends through the community, with two lines forming a loop around the city for efficient distribution to residential, commercial and industrial customers.

Sewer Service
Pine Bluff Wastewater Utility is a municipal entity. The system has recently completed a major expansion and is in full compliance with all EPA standards and regulations. Daily capacity is rated at 14 million gallons, estimated to be sufficient until the year 2005. Current daily usage is approximately 10 million gallons.

Permits are required for industrial discharge into the sewerage system. A computer model has been developed which allows maximum flexibility in plant permitting based upon the individual discharge requirements of a specific company.

Water Service
United Water Arkansas serves the Pine Bluff area from twelve non-surface artesian wells from Sparta Sands Aquifer. The wells range in depth from 844 feet to 907 feet. Three treatment facilities have a combined production capability of 18.9 million gallons per day, with average daily consumption of 15 million gallons per day. All facilities use a process of pre-chlorination, aeration, filtration, and post-chlorination. Rates are competitive.

Two major aquifers underlie the Pine Bluff area at depths ranging from 100 to 1,200 feet. Hydrologists estimate over 90 million gallons of underground water are available daily.

The Arkansas River is a dependable additional source of industrial water and has been approved by the State Department of Health as a source of drinking water when appropriately treated.

Solid Waste
Waste Management of Arkansas, Inc. a unit of Waste Management of America, operates a state-of-the-art Sub title 'D' sanitary landfill, which was opened in 1992 and has an expected twenty-year life. Adjacent lands will allow for future expansion. Dumpster delivery and pickup service is available. Hazardous waste planning, handling and disposal services are available through the parent company and other contractors serving the region.
