Highways and Roadways
Pine Bluff is well served by a network of five U.S. and four state highways radiating from the city. I-530 connects Pine Bluff with Little Rock. Interstates 30 and 40 at Little Rock can be accessed in approximately 40 minutes from virtually any point in the city.

With this network of highways, an expanding industrial base and an annual average of almost one million tons per year moving to and from the Port of Pine Bluff, the city is a natural point of concentration for the trucking industry. Every major metropolitan area in the 48 contiguous states can be reached with single-line service by one or more of the common carriers serving the Pine Bluff area.

Bus
A terminal is operated in Pine Bluff by Jefferson Lines for passenger and parcel services. Current schedules include some 24 buses per day. Royal Coach Lines offers intrastate, regional, and charter services. Pine Bluff Transit operates scheduled service throughout the city from 6:30 a. m. to 6:30 p. m. daily, except Sundays.

Rail
Two of the nation's finest and most competitive railroads serve Pine Bluff with main line service: the Burlington Northern Santa Fe and the Union Pacific. Both railroads offer local switching and grant reciprocal switching rights. The Union Pacific operates a major electronic classification yard in the city.

Inland Waterways
Safe, dependable and cost-effective year-round barge transportation is available in Pine Bluff. The McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System links Pine Bluff to the Mississippi and the nation's inland waterways. With LASH and SEABEE barge services, direct shipments may be made from the Port of Pine Bluff to foreign destinations. All major barge lines provide service to the port. A 20-acre public terminal facility, located on the Arkansas River's largest slackwater harbor, provides convenient and economical access to barge transportation. The public terminal is equipped to handle virtually any product, and can provide in-transit storage and local drayage services.

Air
Daily commercial air freight and passenger services, along with scheduled commuter flights, are available at the Little Rock National Airport, some 40 minutes driving time from Pine Bluff via I-530. This airport is served by American,Interstate Eagle, Continental,Express, Delta,Frontier, Northwest, Southwest and USAirways. Pine Bluff's municipal airport, Grider Field, is conveniently located east of the city. The only ILS-Equipped, jet capable airport in Southeast Arkansas, Grider Field is a designated reliever for Little Rock National. Grider Field services include: a 6,000 foot lighted runway; comfortable passenger terminal with food service; hanger, fuel and maintenance facilities; an FAA flight service station; and ILS and instrument approach system utilizing the Pine Bluff VORTAC. The airport serves as home base for corporate craft and general aviation craft. Charter, air ambulance and air freight services are also available.
