Harbor Industrial District
The Harbor Industrial District is a development project of Pine Bluff-Jefferson County Port Authority.
Description
Located inside the Pine Bluff city limits, the 372-acre park features waterfront and landward sites, hydraulically filled to elevation 214.5 MSL. Allowable soil pressures are generally in the range of 2,000 - 2,500 psf.
Transportation
- Highway. I-530 (U.S. 65 between Pine Bluff and Little Rock, connecting with I-30 and I-40); U.S. 63, 65, 79, 270, 425; State 54, 88, 104, 365.
- Rail. Union Pacific; Burlington Northern Santa Fe through reciprocal switching.
- Air. Grider Field, 7 miles (6,000' asphalt runway with ILS); Little Rock National Airport, 47 miles; (American, Delta, Southwest, TWA, USAir).
- River. McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System 9 foot year-round channel.

- Gas, Natural. Reliant Energy-Arkla Gas; 4" main on property; 100 - 125 psi operating pressure; Maximum 150 psi.

Public Terminal & Special Facilities
A 20-acre public terminal offers barge loading and unloading; 98,000 square foot in-transit warehouse; 44,000 square foot dry bulk storage; liquid storage; outside storage; 50- and 70-ton crawler cranes and a 20-ton covered overhead gantry crane; forklifts with 5,000- to 50,000-lb. lift capacity.
Special facilities offer barge fleeting; barge cleaning and emergency repairs; pumps; boat and barge rental; towboat servicing and repairs and crane service. Numerous common and contract carrier barge lines are certified to serve Pine Bluff. Foreign trade with Europe, Asia and Africa by LASH and SEABEE and container shipments.
